Social and therapeutic horticulture uses the garden as a safe and secure place to develop someone's ability to mix socially, make friends and learn practical skills that will help them to maintain or improve their skills and independence.

THRIVE is the National Society for Horticultural Therapy and has a centre in Reading.

It is the leading UK charity using gardening to transform lives that have been touched by disability.

This is a new project by community member Emily who, together with George has a huge amount of experience in this area and formed the new CHIPPENHAM COLLECTIVE that was aided in its formation by the Hub Community Town Team under the banner of - 'for the community, by the community'
